Adbri Partners with Netcorp to Save Lives with AI Camera Technology

The Introduction of AI Cameras to ADBRI’s Heavy Vehicle Fleet Shows Industry Leadership

June 2025 – Adbri, one of Australia’s leading construction materials and industrial mineral manufacturing companies, has taken a major step forward in road safety by adopting Netcorp’s cutting-edge AI camera technology across its national fleet.

In partnership with Netcorp , Adbri has implemented an AI-driven driver monitoring solution designed to reduce risk, improve driver behaviour, and proactively prevent incidents caused by fatigue or distraction. The system leverages real-time facial recognition and behavioural analysis to alert drivers and fleet managers when signs of drowsiness, mobile phone use, or other dangerous habits are detected.

This technology was first rolled out through a pilot program involving 23 vehicles and backed by funding from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) under the Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative. The early results were promising—with a measurable reduction in risk behaviours and valuable driver feedback that shaped the full rollout plan.

The system, known as Netcorp’s iDrive AI Solution, includes a forward-facing and cabin-facing camera system powered by machine learning models. It also integrates tightly with Netcorp’s telematics platform, providing real-time alerts, HD video playback, and weekly driver performance analytics. Fleet managers gain visibility into trends and behaviour risks, while drivers receive targeted feedback to help improve their safety on the road.

In one case, the system directly contributed to saving a driver’s life by detecting micro-sleep indicators just minutes before what could have been a high-speed incident. The alert prompted immediate action, allowing the driver to safely stop and avoid what might have otherwise been a tragic outcome.

Adbri took a unique approach by involving drivers from day one—consulting them during the planning phase, addressing concerns around privacy and performance, and ensuring the solution was understood and accepted. This collaborative rollout strategy helped ease adoption and foster a culture of safety over surveillance.

Looking ahead, Adbri plans to fully implement the system across its entire fleet, while also finalising robust data governance frameworks and creating ongoing training tools that use the AI system’s feedback to support continuous improvement.

This initiative isn’t just about technology—it’s about saving lives. And thanks to the partnership with Netcorp, Adbri is setting a new standard for safety in the Australian heavy vehicle industry.
